MEDIA RELEASE INTEGRAL Links of London The Man On The MooN Charm Media release distributed by AAP Medianet. Integral Energy restoration update after Father's Day windstorm Integral Energy today restored power supply to 17,000 of the 25,000 customers without power from 6pm on Sunday night after gale force winds on Father's Day caused extensive Links of London to the electricity network. "All work is focussed on restoring power to customers as quickly and safely as possible," Integral Energy's Group General Manager Network Rod Howard said. "Additional resources from Western Sydney, the Southern Links of London Duck Charm and Blue Mountains were brought in to bolster local crews, more than doubling our normal workforce based in the area. "We made good progress today despite crews encountering access issues from the large number of trees that needed to be removed before they could undertake repairs. "Our crews have reported that the damage in the southern Shoalhaven area is the worst they have seen in a decade, with over 200 reports of power lines down in this area alone. "Some parts of the Shoalhaven network will need to be rebuilt before power supply can be restored. "To Links of London Power Walk Charm coordinate the repair effort, we are using helicopter patrols to check for damage to powerlines in areas that we cannot access by road," Mr Howard said. Despite these difficult conditions, repairs undertaken today have restored the network servicing the Wollongong and Shellharbour areas to normal operating conditions.
